About

I keep finding these nifty little things about my blog that thoughtful WordPress has already created for me to use as an example. They usually say something like “This is a post. You should write more of those”. Or “This is a comment. If people care enough to bother, they will leave you more of those. You might not like some of them.” This is the page that WordPress has created for me so that I can tell my “readers” about myself and my blog.

Personally, I think it’s a bit pointless. Because, if my hypothetical “readers” already know me personally (and chances are that they already do because, let’s face it, most of the blogs like mine are usually read by parents, grandparents, and certain close friends that got blackmailed or bribed into creating some traffic for you… but I digress…), so if those people already know me personally, there’s really not much new I can tell them about myself. In fact, they probably know too much about me as is. And if for some reason a stranger stumbles across my blog, then there’s really not much that I can fit on one page that would help them get to know me better. It’s kind of like looking at that personal profile on a dating web site and thinking to yourself “Ok, so your eyes are green and you love kittens, but that doesn’t really tell me if going on a date with you will turn out to be a giant waste of my time. Or if you are an ax murderer.” Same thing here: “So, you love running. But is your blog going to suck?”

So, I figured I will just ignore the “About” page and let my blog speak for itself. 🙂
